UPDATED: FEB 15, 2013 Keg at North Bar/Friends of Ham, Leeds. Pours a very pale, pissy yellow, small finger of head. Aroma is sour grapefruit, a little balsamic, green apple and straw. Taste is citrus fruits, grapefruit, lemons. A little watery as it goes down, it loses a bit of momentum before a lovely four, refreshing finish. Its Long Day Tonic, absolutely hits the spot. Highly impressive for 2.3%.

Bottled, 330ml from S.H Jones in Banbury, 2.5% version. Pale yellow gold with white head. Very citric sour on the palate initially, thin but almost like sucking a raw lemon. Balances do come through giving a light biscuit malt and a grassy, corny note, no sweetness though. Challenges the taste-buds a gives them a good workout. Good.

Bottle. 2.5. Nose is lemon, salt, white wine, delicate and appealing. Taste is sour lemon, leading to salt, elderflower cordial and a pleasing green apple finish. Mouthfeel is very thin but refreshingly so. An interesting and surprisingly good beer given the strength, the first Berliner Weisse I have actually enjoyed.

Bottle at Mikkeller & Friends. Pours clear gold, like apple juice. Aroma is lemons, white wine, cider vinegar, light tropical fruit. Taste is full-on, bone-dry lemony acidity, long minerally finish. Great texture for such a low-alcohol sour. Love this and would drink it all the time if I could get it.

Bottle (330 ml). 2.5 % abv version. Bottled on 04-09-2013. Clear pale yellow (almost translucent) with no head and no lacing. Aroma is lemony with light funk, hints of sweetness and somewhat cheesy. Taste is moderately sour with some funk, light sweetness, lemony notes and cheesy presence. Very light body. Good/lively carbonation. Slight mouth puckering and somewhat dry finish. Tasty for such a low abv beer. Nice refreshing acidity. Drinkable.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Wow! Challenging! 330ml bottle cold, poured into a chunky Hoegaarden glass. Lemon juice and sour apple aroma. Slightly hazy yellow body, no head. Cooking apples sprinkled with lemon juice served in a rusty iron vessel. Unsweetened lemon barley water, Lancashire cheese. Sour and refreshing. Almost like a complex dry cider. Light body, thinly textured (in a good way). Lively carbonation. Fair puckers the mouth and draws the saliva. In the beginning, I was wondering if I would finish it, by the end, I was really enjoying it.

On keg. Appearance - golden with low carbonation and no head. Nose - lemon in fact almost salted lemon. Taste - more tangy lemon and a sour malt background. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long sour finish. Overall - this style is hard work for me but I think this is fairly true to it.

Bottle. As London Sour, 2.5%. A pale, yellowish beer topped by a small, white head. Clear body. The aroma is faintly bready, with some bakers yeast and a little citrus. It’s quite acidic on the palate, with lemon peel and some bread and pale malts. Yeast hints. Some lemon in the rather doughy finish. Thin on the palate. Lemony, doughy finish. A quite decent one, although a tad too doughy. 140315
