Tap. Mostly clear marigold with a pure white head. Bursting with hop juiciness in the aroma, with grapefruit rind, bit dank and woody. Flavor is a bit more subdued, but still very fresh with lemon zest, grapefruit, and wood. Lighter body and quite dry.

Bottle, thnx to jmgreenuk. Another pale ale by The Kernel, a different hop combination.. curious for this. Pours a hazy golden beer with a small white head on top. Aroma of tangerine, citrus and grapefruit and has quite sweet, sugary touches in it. Flavor is fairly bitter, citrussy and has a dry mouthfeel. The amarillo is defintely noticeable. Quite nice and ok.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is orange marmalade with some grassy hops. The flavour is moderate to weak bitter with a weak smooth nettle palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Pale golden beer with a short lived white head. Fresh citrus hop nose with some earthy tones. Strong hoppy bitterness with grapefruit rind and light, bready malts. Big PNW hoppy beer.

On tap in London. Classic Kernel here. Pours lightly hazy gold with a frothy, white cap. Great citrusy hop character with moderate pale malt sweetness. Good and dry. Wonderfully balanced and completely drinkable. Excellent beer.

[10/4/13] Bottle sample at a tasting at chriso’s place. Hazy deep golden. Aroma of citric and tropical hops with some pine. Flavor has a bit of maltiness with light sweetness, fruity hops and a bitter and slightly piney finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

500ml bottle from Ales By Mail

Bottled 09.08.13 - Pours clear dark orange with a smooth bubbly head. Aroma of hay, grass, hints of floral and herbal notes, biscuity malts and caramel. Taste is grassy, bitter and floral with notes of hay and herbal hops. Finish is grassy, biscuity and malty with hints of hay. Okay, but a bit strange hop profile.

Moderately bitter. Thin/medium mouthfeel witg good carbonation. Overall, very nice and tasty pale ale, still easy to drink and refreshing.
