Bottle - lightly hazy golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma of lemon, orange, grapefruit, hay, yeast and pine. Taste of orange, grapefruit, hay, toast, lemon peel and medium strong bitterness to finish. Light body, low carbonation.

Great class of beer. Great brewer. Great hops. Couldn’t be simpler of better really. Lots of sweet zesty orange coming from the amarillo. As always from the kernel, the malt is heavy and smooth. Close to perfection.

Bottle at home, 31st August 14. Aromatic nose, some perfume and pine needles. Taste is solid, pine resin, floral hops, good palate and a clean malt profile, nice

Draft - Grapefruit and pine with some earth.  Hazy gold with a decent white head.  Sweet pine and resin. Piny bitterness and sweetness throughout.  A bit overly sweet for me.

Hazy pale amber low carbonation, pithy with a touch of orange but lacking the massive fruit flavour of some kernel brews.

Bottled, 500ml (at 5.6% ABV) from S.H Jones in Banbury. Hazy orange gold with white head. There is a lovely fruity aroma to this on opening the bottle. On drinking there is a juicy orange flesh character along with citric grapefruit and lemon flavours. The body is light and dry, maybe a hint of biscuit. Overall a very pleasant beer.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma and flavour brings out loads of piney hops, smooth dry biscuity malt and a light astringency. Exceptionally well-balanced and simplistic in its greatness. Excellent pale ale.

0.33l bottle @ Cask Pub & Kitchen. Doesn’t look amazing in the glass this. Deep blurry and mild orangey colored with a dirty quickly disappearing and light sidesticking off-white head. Smells more grainy than apa-ish. Well, OK there are some fresh citrussy tones going on here with a little bit of dark caramel and ripe peaches but the graininess dominates the aroma here. Haven’t had that in a kernel beer before. Tastes much better. Fresh, crisp and lots of zesty citrus bitterness. Mild oily in the mouth with a mild oily mouthfeel. Soft grassy, and reminds me of green Mr freeze. Could of course be an old bottle, but that again would be a bit strange. A tasty one with a somewhat disappointing aroma and looks. 09.11.2013
