In bottle. Pours a golden colour with a decent white head. Aroma of pine, passion fruit, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with pine and tangerines. Juicy, lingering tangerines again. Very nice!

[500ml bottle, The Bottle Shop, Canterbury] Clear golden pour, fluffy white head. Hoppy nose - mostly lemon and clementines. Fruity citrus and slightly grassy flavour. Bitter finish. Quite orangey. In truth, the finish is quite mild for a Kernel (probably down to the sub-5% abv), but the lingeringly bitter orange finish is lovely [03122011]

500ml bottle from RealAle.com. Golden coloured, fluffy white head. Brilliant and powerful fruity aroma, strongly of lychee. Delicate biscuit malt, citrus fruit and maybe some spice leading to a medium bitter finish. Really dry. Lots of yeast chunks. A very good if quite unconventional APA.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli, after a long session at Day 3 of GBBF. Pours hazy, rich gold with a moderate, white foam head. Aroma is wonderful, hints of caramel malts, tangy and ripe citrus, faint pine. Flavor is good, light to medium sweet, some alright tangy citrusy bitterness, light toast. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, short bitter linger, mild grass and pine, further notes of tangy citrus. Good.

Bottle from the Bottle shop, Good Shed, Canterbury, Kent 16th July 2011 consumed 24th July 2011 Pours gold/light amber in colour with off white head, but then I pour a little more and much of the yeasty sediment comes through and this starts to look like a Mango juice (I like Mango juice) Wonderfully hoppy nose, some ginger in mouth also a light spiciness on the aroma. Its a pleasant beer but it doesn’t keep you plugged in for an awful long while. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cloudy amber beer, small white head. Orange citrus nose. Light dry palate, a little crispy. I believe Evin refers to Apollo as a hop with garlic like characteristics and that rings true for me. Light orange hops with a little greeness about them and then that garlic like tang. Finishes crisp and dry finish. Initially I thought this was a moderate beer but it slowly seduced me in to liking it.

Bottle at the Kernel Brewery. It pours cloudy orange-yellow, with a thin foamy white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is mostly citrus: orange, lemon and some apricot. The taste is biscuit, weak lemon, orange zest, apricot, astringency, pine and bread, with a dry, citrus finish. Not as packed with flavour as the other Kernel brews, perhaps this hop just isn’t for me.
