Bottle at home, as Galaxy Cascade 5.2%, 19/05/16 .... Kernel Rate #300 !!! Murky golden amber with a well appointed off white head. Nose is bitter orange, melon, earthy hop, light mineral exhaust, airy malts. Taste comprises soft bread, peach, tangerine, chalky mineral rinse, mango pulp, sweet licks. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close dashed with juicy hop bitterness. Decent enough APA but doesn’t quite sing to me as well as Kernel normally does.

Tap. Queen’s Head, King’s Cross. As Galaxy Cascade. 5.2%. Murky, grey tinged, straw colour. Film of off white head. Nose has earthy, stone fruit hop. Some notes of tinned fruit. Touch of mineral. Taste is earthy bitter. Gets fairly dry. Decent body. Some juiciness comes through at the end. Ok.

Bottled@Kernel. Slightly hazy golden colour, small white creamy head. Aroma is fruits, floral hops and some mild nectary and herbal notes. Flavour is caramel, fruits, wood and rather big on the floral notes in the finish.

Hazy tangerine coloured beer, good white head. Light palate. Dry and a little crispy. A little lacto cream in the even pale malt. A little fresh orange and grapefruit, the grapefruit providing bitterness. That typical Galaxy earthy mango is here but very subtle. Fairly bitter dry finish with mild minerals. Real legs in the bitterness that reach long in to the aftertaste.

Galaxy Cascade version! Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light, fairly dry and has good fine carbonation. Thin malts, mild sweetness. Dry spicy hops with floralness, mildly tangy citrus and a trace of candy fruits. Tangy fruity spicy finish, a whisper of Galaxy fruit salad. Plenty going on.

Bottle. Golden with a thin bubbly foam. Aromas are toffee malt with tinned nectarine, grapefruit and pineapple. Herbal and floral green pine with woody notes. Flavours are sweet oranges and pineapple with nutty notes and grapefruit and herbal pine bitterness. Spritzy on the palate. A great fruity, hoppy brew.

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Merry Christmas. Hazy apricot-light brown colour. Orange zest and brown sugar aroma. Nectarine and pine resin come through, then a bitterness at the back of the throat with a medium length finish.
