3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 11, 2013
0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a cloudy golden-murky-yellow one with a nice medium sized and lacing off-white top. Some hoppy fruitiness on the aroma, definitely not extreme. I get tones of tropical fruits, menthol, peaches and perhaps some pineapple. Yeah, I can like that. It’s average and sharp on the carbonation with a nice oily mouthfeel. More sharp and hoppy in the taste also. Clear apricots and peaches with hints of bitter citrus-zest and some flour from the yeast. Really tasty for a pale this! 18.10.2012
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ClubGonzo (2713) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 24, 2012
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. My first Kernel beer! :-) Anticipations are sky-high considering all the hype these Britbrewers have been getting - let’s see if they deliver. Pours a light honey-hued orange body with a big, creamy white head. Aroma is grass, apricot, pine, hints of fruity syrup notes and pineapple. Very inviting. Taste is citric peel-like fruity bitterness up front, mellow caramel, pine and hints of wet grass. Full body, medium carbonation. A nice beer, and most notably very drinkable despite not actually being that extraordinary. A very drinkable and balanced IPA.

Bottled. A golden beer with a massive whitish bubbly head. Massive carbonation with millions of bubbles cascading up the drink. Good sharp chinook bitterness in the mouth with some balancing Centennial orangey flavours. Good pale malts. Nice citrus aromas but perhaps a bit too subdued. Tasty but painfully fizzzy.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scopey (3246) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2011
5.2%, 330ml bottle at Brewdog Bar Aberdeen. It pours light orange-gold, with a thin bubbly white head. The nose is tangerine, sweet orange, mango, tinned peach and light pine. The taste is pine, resin, orange pith, light tangerine, leather, hay, and straw, with a big dry finish. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. The taste doesn’t quite live up to the nose. An easy drinking pale ale.

4.8% ABV bottle, beermerchants.com. Very pungent fresh hop aroma, to this golden beer. Sharp, but not spicy, very soft palate and exceptionally easy to drink. Flavours of caramel and faint wood, some antiseptic, but very faint. Short finish, with some bite late on, a little bit buttery, low citrus.
