Tap at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels. Poured a very slightly hazy straw colour with a frothy white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is big tropical fruit citrus, grassy hop, some yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big citrus hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Fantastic fruity aroma, loads of tropical fruit flavours, balanced with a little sharp citrus, sherbet, rounded of with a slight earthiness. Medium bodied, light to moderate carbonation, perhaps very slightly oily. Lovely.

Bottle. Turner’s, Sheffield. 5.4%. Mucky gold. Kernel swede. Peach fuzz hoppage. Syrupy fruits. Biscuity malts. Very juicy. Taste is soft bitter. A bit sticky sweet. Light body. Bitterness builds on the finish. Smells great, but tails off a bit, losing that juiciness. Still super drinkable.

500ml bottle from Kris wines. Pours a hazy gold with thin white head. Aroma is grassy hops, citrus fruits and slightly floral. Peach and apricot. Oily texture. Light carbonation. Flowery, delicate citrus and pine. Lovely finish which is well balanced between sweet and dry.

500ml bottle, 5.4% bottled 08/09/15. Orange with a light haze, softly sparkling, small dense foamy white head, full lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, faint toffee, some lime oil. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, pretty smooth. Taste is straw, mint, leafy hops, grapefruit, soft bitterness with just the right amount of malt backbone. Classic super-drinkable Kernel pale ale. Clean, fresh flavour. Masterful.
