3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Goods Shed, Canterbury. This one says its 5.1% ABV. I know that Evin has done several versions of this beer. I remember having a bottle even before he was selling commercially, so I guess there will be a number of versions out there. Orange gold with a slight haze and a lasting thin white head. I don’t know if Centennial is my favourite hop, but most of my favourite beers do have Centennials in and the aroma on this is magical. Lovely fresh satsuma-ry hops on aroma. Earthy in the mouth. Malts are ok, but maybe a little lacking as it is a very touch watery on the swallow. Malts could be a bit firmer. Hops on the finish are tasty enough. Overall a very drinkable, almost easy drinking 5%ish hoppy American Pale Ale. Definitely falls into the APA category. Just as I say lacking a firmness in the malts that would help on the mouthfeel and swallow.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. A slightly hazy golden beer with a pleasant white head. Lovely fresh citrus notes throughout. A well brewed tasty beer which has no pretences to be extreme. Just easy drinking and satisfying. There’s a tiny touch of soapiness amongst the gorgeous Centennial hops. Good beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
[500ml bottle, Kernel Brewery, London] Pours a hazy pale gold with minimal carbonation. Comes with the usual Kernel bottle conditioning, swirly sediment in the bottle. Aroma of citrus hops, tart fruit from the Centennial. A tremendously drinkable pale ale, this rivals Sierra Nevada although at a lesser abv is sessionable (although I’ve had a few session on SNPA in my time). Fantastic dry aftertaste, lovely finish of grapefruit and lemon zest

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ Cafe Otto, London. Rich amber with loose head. Fruit skins, orchard fruit, and crisply herbal hop in the aroma. Quaffable with low carbo. Delightful yeast plays on the tongue. Hearty fruit. Almost has a barrel character. Interesting hybrid flavors taste like British yeasts mingled with American hops.
