Bottle at home picked up at the brewery. Aroma is nice mix of lemon, grass orange and sharp grapefruit edge. Golden light orange with a loose lasting white head. Light haze. Flavour is nice lemon orange rock shandy, earthy chinook notes and some sharp citrus. Base malt is clean providing a nice platform for the hops.Ferments out clean and semi dry. Clean solid orangey bitterness. Medium body and highish carbonation. lingering earthy bitterness. Another solid pale ale from the big K

Bottle, from the brewery, at home 21/02/14. Hazed orange golden with a moderate off white covering that retains as pondwork. Nose is orange sherbet, ripe melon, light chalky minerals, bread dough. straw, toasty, earthy hop loading. Taste comprises orange pithdom, bread dough, light mineral tones, citric sherbets. hint of mango. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the close. Decent APA, had it at 3.3 to begin with but got to enjoy it more as I progressed through the bottle, not the Kernels best offering but solid as always !

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg, So is this really a different beer from http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/the-kernel-pale-ale-c ? Lightly hazy pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and crispy with mild minerals. Light malt cream, pretty thin. Carbonated sting before the light fresh hops - orange, orange pith, floralness. Whispers of grapefruit and lemon. Crisp dry finish. There is a wonderful lightness about this PA but it’s still very tasty!

Hazy amber - gold beer. Small white head that doesn’t last long. Green fresh hops, slightly spicy. Whisper of mint. Some creamy malt holds things together. Trace of orange hop before the dry finish. Nice fresh pale ale.

On at the brewery, rather nice, fat sweet strawberry vibes with some tropical vibes too.

Tap at The Cock Tavern, Hackney. Light pineapple aroma, quite mild. Light body, medium carbonation. A little thin. Light marmalade, lemon, grapefruit, slightly woody, dry, bitter finish. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg North Bar, Leeds, Saturday 15th February 2014. Pours hazy straw with slim white head. Aroma is a little blunted. Sweet in mouth, but then dry, soft tangy, some lemon peel but a pithy harshness, its good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

On tap at the brewery. Hazy gold lasting white head. Lots of orange tangerine fruit some earthiness towards the end. Tasty enough. Not their best pale ale but solid. Some hop sting on the finish. Bit too earthy for me it makes the tangerine flavour a bit dirty.

500ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Very hazy orange gold colour with thin off white head. Cheesy hoppy aroma. Some orange and tangerine fruit on aroma. Quite subdued for a Kernel hoppy beer to be honest. Pretty bitter on the finish mind. Tasty and full enough in the mouth. I suppose there is more kind of earthy bitter hops on this rather than grapefruity piney resiny PNW flavour. Interesting rather than likeable for me. Tangerine and clementine flavours are good and bitterness on finish. 3.3/5.0 Re-rate from a 5.3%abv version bought at the wonderful Sourced Market in St Pancras. Hazy orange gold colour with lasting white head. Piney aroma of PNW hops. Lots of tangerine and grapefruit. Flavour in the mouth is more intense and the finish remains tangerinely moreish. Some bitterness in fact just enough to make you want drink more. What a great brewery.
