(Draught at The Kernel Brewery, Bermondsey, London, 23 Nov 2013) Golden amber colour, hazy, with foamy white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, apricots, resin and tropical fruit. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, resin, grass, grainy malt and a generous citric, resinous bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty with a fresh hop character. Very nice.

Keg at Holborn Whippet. A sidereal step for Kernel PA this one. Citra characteristics to the rear as a mineral dry bitterness takes the lead. Nice and marmalade all round. Pleasant change. Fresh and low on the usual funk factor. Very drinkable.

Keg at the Kernel brewery at the Paul Unwin Tasting. Aroma is lemon, grassy, mineral, biscuit malt, light veg. Classic kernel appearance, clody orange colour with a lasting thin white frothy head. Flavour is classic clean malt profile, biscuity malt, lemon rind, light pine needles. Finishes nice and dry. Very drinkable. Assertive clean lemony bitterness.

Medium bodied, fine carbonation, bitter hop notes in a grassy closure. Good Kernal APAage.

Old Fountain. Keg. Hazy orange - amber beer, decent white head. Palate starts smooth then turns minerally crisp. Light and semi sweet malt. Good fresh orange and orange peel hops. Touch of lemon marmalade. Yellow grapefruit comes through and then a bare whisper of tropical fruits. Pleasantly bitter fruity peel bitternese which lasts well in to the aftertaste. Fruity hop goodness again from Kernel.

Keg at the brewery - Bermondsey, London. The first beer of what was a most epic day of beer drinking. Pours lightly hazy gold with a creamy, white head. Gorgeous stuff, loaded with bright and citrusy hops, tangerine, orange and grapefruit. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish with tangerine for days and mild hay bitterness. Glorious.

Keg at the brewery. Cloudy orange amber. These Kernel pales seem to be getting a bit more colour these days. White medium bubbly head. Nose is big and minerally with some very subtle muddy farmyard character alonside the expectable orange and grapefruit peel citrous notes. Its a nice full flavoured pale ale with lots of citrous zest and minerally stuff.
