Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours hazy, amber gold with a soft, white foam head. Gorgeous, classic Kernel nose, lots of dry citrus, toasty grass, some birch. Light sweet flavor with citrus and lime bitterness, some earth and grass, mild toast and toasted sugar. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Semi-dry finish, some wood, grass, citrus rind, yeasty dryness, crispy straw, lightly toasted bread. Nice lasting bitterness. Great APA.

Bottle at the new brewery. Cloudy orange colour with white beige bubbly head. Aroma is fruity, orange citrus, bit of pine hops, some cream. Taste is equally fruity, grapefruit, orange, bitter, some yeastiness. Very satisfying bitter finish.

Keg at the Kernel Brewery. It pours hazy orange, with a thick white head. The nose is tangy orange citrus, leaf, cheddar, sweaty sock, and earth. The taste is mango, orange, kumquat, pine, resinous hops, leaf, citrus pith and earth, with a long bitter finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and good balance. Highly drinkable. Delicious.

Bottle. Golden. White, persisting head. Light-medium carbonation. Aroma - In-your-face fruity hops, that are quite tropical, with sweet melon & a bit of banana, and some spiciness, but also some drier, citrus notes underneath it - quite a nice balance. Taste - Good fruity flavours matching the aromas; quite a delicate balance of lightly sweet tropical fruits and some drier grapefruit & spicy flavours. Lightly sweet beginning, slowly transitioning to a nice, crisp, light bitterness at the end. Quite a heavy body for a pale, bit frothy in the mouth. Well-balanced, tasty, fruity pale, with an interesting mix of hop aroma/flavours.

Bottle at the brewery, Bermondsey, London 21.04.12 Pours a mid hazy gold edging towards amber with slim white head. Citrussy in mouth with some bittersweet orange, actually it is more sweet, with just a late bitter citrussy and sort of pithy edge to it. Bit dry towards the end, but a damn good beer, I had this sandwiched between two Simcoe Nelson Sauvin IPA’s and it worked very well. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle at craig’s. Aroma is quite sharp citrus hops, grapefruit, slight musty pissyness. Similar taste, plenty grapefruit, little resinous hops. Fairly bitter finish. Not bad for a kernel, quite similar to his otter beers.

50cl bottle from the Brewery. It pours a clear golden orange colour with a medium soapy white head. Aroma is grassy, flowery and resiny. Taste is moderately bitter with grass, violets and pine needles. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall, a very nice and hoppy pale ale.
