33 cl bottle Bottled on 18.07.2013. BBE 18.11.2013.
Pours hazy amber color with a medium sized head. Quite appealing fruity aroma, tropical fruits mostly, some floral hops and caramel malts. Flavor has also sweet exotic fruits, caramel makes it even sweeter, grassy hops balance it a bit, mild goose berries on the aftertaste. Medium carbonation, sweet fruity palate, lingering grapy finish. Maybe a tad too sweet but still very tasty.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. From oddbins London bridge. Slight hazed orange with a small white head. Nose is some white wine and that burnt clutch plate nelson sauvin hop. Crisp juicy fruit peach flavour. Some chalk in the palate.

Bottle at home from brewery, slightly shaken up so pours cloudy orange, medium white head. Nose is tangy, bitter citrous fruit, marmalade, grapefruit, orange, caramel. Not much of that earthy nelson hop. Taste is orange, grapefruit, bitter, mango tropical fruit.

Hazy amber beer, little off white head. Palate is smooth with mild fine carbonation. Semi dry. Light malt. Good marmalade, little fresher orange. A bare whisper of Nelson grape. Finishes soft. This is a nice beer but unusually for Kernel doesn’t show the hops off at their best. Strong bitter linger.

330ml bottle. Hazy orangey golden colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Hoppy aroma has a pineapple note. Taste is minimally bitter hoppy, hints of pineapple. Have expected more flavour from the often so ingenious Nelson Sauvin.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy light brown pour almost amber, the head is white but doesn’t want to be, the aroma is looking for a fight but I backed off, the taste is fruity and malty the fruit is orange, slight lemon but forward taste is biscuity malts, the carbonation is vociferous.

Bottle at home, wee hours of 24/08/13, from the brewery. Hazed orange amber with a decent sized off white head. Nose is grass, bitter orange, light burnt rubber notes, hops, light floral notes and a touch of stairwell next morning piss. Taste comprises bitter hops, mineral notes, orange pith, bitter grapefruit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with hop bitterness, dank pine. Not my favourite APA from the Kernel, a little overly bitter and tarte, decent drinkable fayre none the less.

More of the same from The Kernel, nice pillowy soft mouthfeel, slightly hazy and lots of grapefruit!
