3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 harrisoni (10911) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2011
500ml bottle hand labelled for me by Nate at the brewery. Slight haze on a pale orange brown gold colour. Lasting white head. Head retention is good. Tropical fruit aroma. mango and guava. Huge mango. I should know, I skinned and chopped up two large ones this afternoon. Some leafy hop too. Great aroma. Perfect mouthfeel. Mouth flavours don’t quite live up to the aroma. Needs a touch more malt backbone to carry this immense fruit. I’ve pulled something in my back and it’s killing me. But even that can’t take away from the aroma of this beer. Yes more tropical fruit on finish, but with some earthy muddiness too. Not overly bitter. Awesome aroma. Maybe the hop needs to be blended with something else to give it that bit more finish. Very drinkable though. I know I keep saying this, but please stop making beers this good will you? It spoils everything else I drink. Only joking.

30th August 2011 Hazy orange gold beer, small white head. Light semi crisp palate, just a tad dry. Smooth hops that are tasty and interesting. Subtle peach and melon. A modicum of Nelson Sauvin like ’filth’ but pretty mild. Mild elderflower and a trace of sour lemon. Grapefruit only shows at the end and brings some bitterness. Finishes semi dry with mild minerals and a mildy bitter aftertaste. Really hope the boys do a full IPA with this cracking hop!
