_angst_ (1745) - Göteborg, - JUN 8, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 500 ml bottle bought @ The Bottle Shop Camterbury. Pours hazy pale golden with a frothy white head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is slightly sweet and hoppy fresh with wet moss, freshly cut grass, black currants, bergamot, crackers, orange zest, lemon balm, basil, wet soil, earl grey tea and wet hot stones. Taste is slight sweet and slightly bitter with fresh grass, bergamot, black currants, red currants, green tea, lime juice, gooseberries, grapefruit juice, wet stone, lemon balm, tobacco and moss. Mouthfeel is crisp, slightly watery and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and slightly bitter with orange peal, lemon balm, bergamot, fresh grass and gooseberries. Nice, fresh and refreshing!

Bottle shared by Max prior to our Hill trip. Pours a faintly hazed with a thin white head. Big spicy hops on the nose, lots of pungent citrus and pith. Medium bodied, spicy hop character leading into a bit of grapefruit peel on the finish. Very nice.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is hugely grassy followed by a medium bitter grass hop flavour with some citrus fruit and a little caramel on the palate. Drink fresh and cool for a great refreshing beer. This was a 5.4% version.

Tap at Crown and Anchor. Slightly hazy pale orange. White head barely there, nice lacing. Really perfumy, candy aroma. Full mouthfeel. Taste is hops, bitterness and fake chocolate candy alongside a little maltiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home, from the brewery, 14/05/13. Hazed dark orange/murky amber with a thin white head. Nose is bitter tropical fruits, dank orange, grapefruit, mango, light glue notes, caramel, hops, slight burnt/sour tropical fruit tones. Taste comprises bitter orange, grapefruit, hops, light pine, sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. This was a real bitter number, drinkable stuff, but lower down the pecking order of Kernel APA’s for me!

Backlog rate. Bready, chunky, hoppy pale ale, not as many fruit notes as other Kernel pales and IPAs but still superior!

Bottle from Ober. Copper pour with a bright white head. Great citrusy aroma with orange, caramel malts and light grassy notes. Great orange and tropical fruit flavors and just enough malt. Damn good!

500ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Clear pale gold with lasting white head. Leafy hoppy aroma with tangerine and orange fruit aroma. Rather a good pale ale with lovely tangerine fruits. Some bitterness on the finish. Yes pretty good I thought, very drinkable
