50cl bottle from the Brewery. It pours a clear golden orange colour with a medium soapy white head. Aroma is grassy, flowery and resiny. Taste is moderately bitter with grass, violets and pine needles. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall, a very nice and hoppy pale ale.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home, 5th February 2012. Pours clear, not much head, aroma is nice, nothing much to speak of. Taste is a little watery, but pleasant, I have tried over 20 of the Kernel beers, this one was one that was disappointing by their standards, but nice.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wines, Brockley. Murky golden pour with a mid sized off white head. Piney hop and zesty citrus evident in the nose. Plenty more fruity character in the flavour, and a slightly less prominent hop profile than anticipated. Dry bitter finish. Tasty and downable but perhaps a little underwhelming by the Kernel’s exceedingly high standards.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from an offie in Coventry- not telling you which one in case you head down there and sweep the shelves of MY Kernels.
Weizen looks; clouded orange with a tight white foam. Heavily Jelly Tot and mango-accented aroma; earthy, unripe mango flavour with hints of grapefruit and chaffy malt. Full, slippery condition carrying the alcohol well. Soft, soapy bitterness. Good brew, but a bit watery and one-dimensional from The Kernel. Could use another hop as back up.
