Bottle @ The Kernel Brewery. Average sized frothy white, mostly lasting head with good lacing. Hazy medium orange color. Smell a lot of hops, a lot of citrus and grapefruit, lightly yeasty, very fruity, nicely bitter. Tastes medium to heavy bitter, very fruity, nice citrussy bite. Pleasant bitter finish of average duration. Medium to full body, little bit creamy texture, lively cabonation. Love this beer.

Bottle at the East Croydon Beer Tasting, October 2011, thanks to Nate. Pours cloudy gold with a white head. Tangy citrus nose, some light pine. Good balance in the flavor, hints of wood, tangy citrus, light sweetness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Semi-dry finish, light sugar, light resinous grass. Very nice, highly drinkable.

16th October 2011
Hazy orange beer, tidy white head. Light crispish palate, a little dry. Floral tangerine with a back end of mild earthyness. Traces of grapefruit, lime and melon before the dry finish. Not an aggressive hop this but hope they IPA it!

Scopey (6730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2011
Bottle at the 2nd East Croydon Beer Tasting, thanks to Nate Dawg. It pours hazy golden yellow, with a decent foamy white head. The nose is pine, tangerine, clementine and mango. The taste is tangerine, orange pith, apricot, clementine, light spice and pine, with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and good balance. Yet another good easy drinking APA from Kernel!

50cl bottle from the Brewery. It pours a clear golden orange colour with a medium soapy white head. Aroma is grassy, flowery and resiny. Taste is moderately bitter with grass, violets and pine needles. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall, a very nice and hoppy pale ale.

DruncanVeasey (7160) - NUNEATON, Top 18, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2011
Bottle from an offie in Coventry- not telling you which one in case you head down there and sweep the shelves of MY Kernels. Weizen looks; clouded orange with a tight white foam. Heavily Jelly Tot and mango-accented aroma; earthy, unripe mango flavour with hints of grapefruit and chaffy malt. Full, slippery condition carrying the alcohol well. Soft, soapy bitterness. Good brew, but a bit watery and one-dimensional from The Kernel. Could use another hop as back up.

Bottle 500ml.

Unclear - hazy matt medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, thin, chlorine ! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111031]

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wines, Brockley. Murky golden pour with a mid sized off white head. Piney hop and zesty citrus evident in the nose. Plenty more fruity character in the flavour, and a slightly less prominent hop profile than anticipated. Dry bitter finish. Tasty and downable but perhaps a little underwhelming by the Kernel’s exceedingly high standards.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a hazy golden with a rough white head. Fruity, exotic hop aroma. Medium body, sweet fruit and malts, carbonation is surprisingly low. Dry finish with a subtle bitterness. Not the most thrilling Kernel. 311011
