500ml bottle as Pale Ale Centennial Simcoe from Hippo Beers. Hazy amber brown colour, not much head. Big woody hop aroma. Flowery resinous pine hop flavour. Citrus fruit & tarry aftertaste. Another great Kernel Pale Ale.

Aroma: Sweet candy, pine, yeast, juicy orange and grapefruit. Dusty hop aroma.

Appearance: Murky amber body with a medium white head that holds really well. Great lacing.

Taste: Pineapple, pine and yeast with flashes of lemon and mango. Really well balanced and moreish. Bitter finish.

Palate: Medium to full body with an oily texture. Average carbonation.

Overall: My bottle is labelled íPale Ale Centennial Simcoe 5.4% ABVí. Yet another great beer from this brewer - fruity, flavoursome and superbly balanced.

Bottle at The Kernel. The pourís a hazy, deep orange color. Dark in appearance compared to most Kernel efforts. The nose is full of herbal hoppiness. Plenty of jasmine, pine cone. Sea breeze. Unwashed herbs. The taste is woody hoppy bitterness. More pine cone, resin. Light citrus. Lemon lime soda. Hints of sweet orange. Medium body. Active carbonation. Overall, a really nice beer. Great aroma.

Classic mango grapefruit with a hint of pine. Light malt backbone with a long and soft oily finish. Think the bottle I had was quite elderly as there was less of the classic simcoe qualities that I expected. Still another classy beer from kernel

Tap at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, 10/04/13 @ 5.4% badged as Centennial Simcoe. Lightly hazed golden amber with a thin off white head that clears to a film. Nose is orange pith, hops, pine, light grapefruit, citrus notes. Taste comprises sweet mango, bitter grapefruit, orange, hops, pine, sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitterness in the the finish. Decent but not my favourite Kernel APA.

500ml bottle. Pours a very hazy orange with a large, rocky head. Aroma is mango, passion fruit and melon. Taste has melon and bread to start. Bitter piney hop finish.

omegamike (152) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2012
Pours golden blonde, with a hazy lemon body. Aroma is predominantly pineapple, maybe some mango, and an underlying hop bitterness - this is this beerís strongest suit, itís a beautiful smell indeed. The flavour is quite nutty, presumably from the usually abundant Kernel yeast presumably, with undertones of pine, and a rather abrasive, bitter finish. Itís not the best tasting Kernel offering, but itís got a nice refreshing finish that is very welcome after a hard dayís work.

Bottle. Hazy orange with an off-white head. Aromas are apricot and pineapple with lemon. Orange rind with creamy oak. Gentle spices with herbal pine. Flavours are mellow oranges with sharp, sweet lemon and low bitter grapefruit. Spritzy, yeasty palate. Great.

BenH (2140) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 11, 2012
From bottle, loads of yeast as per usual. Pours cloudy golden/orange with short lasting head. Fruity hop aroma, slight pissyness. Taste is pleasant at first, fruity hops, pine, then an earthy note followed by a strong yeast presence. Refreshing with a clean finish. Not bad, some very nice things going on, just needs pollishing.

Hazy gold - amber beer, good off white head. Smooth semi dry with mild fine carbonation. Mild starfruit, mild grapefruit and mellow tangerine - orange with a trace of lemon. A little creamy malt underneath. Semi dry finish. Well joined up, comparatively, for Kernel, mellow pale ale.
