4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
"Kernel PA Simcoe Vs", 5.2%. Bottle(s) from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Slim topped misted ochre. Top juicy citrus pulp, pine, dragon fruit, mint, strawberry all chucked in the blender nose. Soapy, floral, stewed and tropical with that lingering deeply husky kernel thing in the tail. Slippery melon, guava, lavender. Hard to believe it contains alcohol. Just yet another very exceptional Kernel beer in the bottle.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle shared by Erwin Van Moll @ Brewpub Van Moll. Clear light orange color, small off-white head. Weird and not pleasant aroma of vegetables and plants. Taste lightly malts, again some vegetables and plant like. What the hell happend here? Not like The Kernel at all.. Has to be an incident.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home. Aroma is well, big simcoe, sweaty and fruity with tangerine and mild malt. Flavour is the same, good beer but not my favorite hop on it’s own.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
(The Kernel Pale Ale Simcoe) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a tulip. ABV 5.3%
Golden yellow colour on the body, mostly clear. Small white head, thin, but with good retention. Light lacing left behind.
Aroma is full of grapefruit, lots of hops as expected, light manure after a swirl of the glass but not annoying, leaves.
Great taste, citrus, grapefruit, pine and a bit of resin as well, nice bitterness, nothing extreme, more like a light bite, but with long duration.
Medium thin body, carbonation on good levels, quite dry on the palate.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Thin, sticky, lasting, white head. Huge, fresh, Simcoe hop leaf aroma. Very peachy, juicy and sweet, pine resin character. Taste is minty sweet, first off. Then pretty dry and bitter. Fresh, lightly oily palate. Dryness and bitterness last on the finish. Very quaffable.
