"Kernel PA Simcoe Vs", 5.2%. Bottle(s) from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Slim topped misted ochre. Top juicy citrus pulp, pine, dragon fruit, mint, strawberry all chucked in the blender nose. Soapy, floral, stewed and tropical with that lingering deeply husky kernel thing in the tail. Slippery melon, guava, lavender. Hard to believe it contains alcohol. Just yet another very exceptional Kernel beer in the bottle.

Bottle, bought @ Beermerchants.com.
Pours light hazy golden with a fine, creamy, white head. Long duration. Aroma has good notes of the Simcoe, light piney, hint of melon and grapefruit. Light oranges. Some malty sweetness. Highish carbonation, lovely creamy and dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very lovely. Lots of bitterness, lots of character from the Simcoe. Grapefruit, piney, orange zest, some lemons. Light sweetness in the middle before a long, lingering, hoppy bitterness. Impressive how the hops flavours are so clean compared to eg Mikkeller Single Hop Simcoe because that is (afaik) dry-hopped as well as being an IPA... This malts recipe really makes the hops stand out in flavour.

Keg at Kernel. Awesome, a very accomplished pale ale, perfectly poised and elegant. Bags of flavour, kiwi, grapes, mango, wood and tropical fruit on the nose, a welcome sweetness. Underpinned by a smidgeon of feet/salami skin smell! Not too bitter, but a wonderfully satisfying drawn out finish. Get one asap.

On tap at the BeerTemple. Lightly hazy gold pour with foamy white head. Aroma of nice light simcoe hop, piney and citrusy, light dank. Taste is really grapefruit forward, almost sweet, really tasty, bright and fresh, light bitterness. Palate is light but not watery, nice smooth carbonation, very dry. Great stuff.

A Mes rate. Bottle thanks to Mario.
Clean amber gold with a thin white head. Big biiiig Simcoe. Lots of tangerine and grass and grapefruit. Really jammy feel. Light bitterness but plenty of length. Great stuff.

Keg, Euston Tap. It pours cloudy amber with a small white head. The nose is fresh pine, sticky orange, marmalade, mango, tinned pineapple and some underlying sweetness. The taste is bitter pine, earth, zesty citrus, orange rind, marmalade, faint sherbet and a touch of resin with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice citrus, damn bitter and tasty. A classic kernel pale.

Bottle at home. 5.4% on the bottle. Slight hazed pour with a golden orange colour with persistent with white head. Aroma is punchy orange blossom, lemon rind with a crisp chalky edge. Flavour is bready malt, but it clears the way for the hops. Hops are more orange and lemon zest. Assertive clean bitterness. Body is smooth mid body oaty. Finish is slight resin pine. Damn tasty beer.

Bottled 17/08/13. An orange coloured beer which poured with no head. A lovely fruity orangey hoppy beer. Good pale malts give lovely balance and nil sweetness but it’s in no way harsh. Very tasty and so drinkable. There’s a little bit of a spicy hop hit late on, Lush.
