Half at The Kernel on keg. Colour is pale amber, hazy, white head. Nose is earthy, citrousy, pine and minerally. Taste is citrous bitter, earthy, minerally, some pine. It’s nicely balanced and not really bursting with flavour. On the finish there’s a bit of grapefruit bitter and those earthy minerally notes.

Bottle at home in London. Pours fuzzy gold with a fine, foam head. Some ripe orange in the nose, bits of dry toasty bread. Medium sweet flavor, some lightly toasted sugar, lots of ripe, juicy citrus, orange and tangerine. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty sweet to finish, a bit of sweet bread, more ripe citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, orange. A bit sweeter than typical Kernel APAs, whic is kind of nice. Less dry, doo. Very nice.

Bottle from CASK Pub & Kitchen. Fruity resin hop aroma & flavour. Hazy amber brown colour, no head A bit flat. Hoppy aftertaste. Nice but Kernel do better.

Bottle. Pours dark hazy amber with small white head. Distinct NZ hop aroma, slightly earthy, mango, melon, gooseberry. Similar taste, mango and gooseberry followed by an earthyness. Light on the palate with an ungraceful finish. One if his better ones

Keg at Caley, EIBF 2012. Opaque hazy amber, frothy white head. Dry juicy paate, wood, lychee, touch of citrus. Lovely soft flavours, citrus, lychee, touch of Nelson gooseberry funk. Soft woody dry linger. light prickly carbonation. Nice.

Scopey (3229) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2012
Tap at BrewDog Camden. It pours hazy orange, with a thin white head. The nose is full of soft tropical fruit: mango, tangerine, orange and marmalade. The taste is citrus pith, earth, tangy marmalade, mango, grapefruit, tangerine, light resin, pine, touch of spice and salt, with a pleasantly bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth, juicy and very easy drinking.

Aroma: Beautiful pine, mango and kiwi notes with a sweet caramel aroma.

Appearance: Dense, caramel coloured body with a thick off-white head. Gorgeous lacing.

Taste: Very hoppy. Taste is more piney than fruity. Light saltiness. Lovely dry finish.

Palate: Medium body with a silky smooth mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: One of the best pale ales I’ve tasted. This brewery rarely disappoints.

On tap at BrewDog Camden on 8th July 2012. Gold with thin bubbly head and initial lace. Sweetish fruity aroma with a little cheese. Grapefruit hoppiness in-mouth, touches of orange zest. Rich hoppy finish with slight savoury notes which I found welcome. Light body and mouthfeel.
