Thick hazy cloud of orange and a thick head. Heavy vegetal aromas with some strong burnt sugar tang. Rich and very boozy with a long grassy dryness which is super bitter and tangy. This is pretty special actually, very boozy and warming a fabulous beer, much as I imagine an older IPA might taste.

My Bottom Line:
This smashingly juicy American-style IPA showcases mango, peach and orange fruitiness atop bitter hop resins in a clean, polished and bubbly mouthfeel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the hazy orange (which is quite bright without the yeast pour).
-The tropical fruitiness is beautifully balanced out by the coniferous resins. A beautiful hop this Simcoe, used very professionally.
-There is lots of yeast in the bottle, but even when you pour it in it doesn’t take away much of the hop flavor.
-Drinkability is medium, which is to be expected in these American-style IPAs which pack a punch.
-This is an IPA which can stand on its own versus the best American examples. Bravo!

Bottle :Top recommendation by Kris@Kris Wines, London. A good looking hazy amber pour with a lingering mid sized off white head. Aroma of cat pee , grassy hop and gooseberry. The flavour really shows the simcoe shining to great effect., with the bitterness building steadily to a fine crescendo. Great mouthfeel. Everything well proportioned and extremely moreish. Alcohol nicely masked. As good an English IPA as I’ve tasted. Cracking stuff. Bravo !

Bottle in July at the bar of St Johns London
Slight haze and lots of yeast sediment. Small head that dissipates with good lace. Pine ripe citrus and grapefruit aroma. Slightly sticky and fairly sweet. Mildly astringent and dry. Perfectly balanced. Excited to have found this at

A Mes rate. Bottle at Mario’s.
A very attractive, clean orange gold coloured beer with an impressive white head. Big Simcoe, cheese and a slight sweatty feet note in the aroma. Bloody good. The flavour is even better. Superb dryness, just the right alpha content, pretty much perfect bitterness and a solid malty base that supports the whole thing really well. The finish is just excellent. A big hit of dry Simcoe with considerable length and just a hint of pepper and spice. Evan is doing a bloody superb job and is showing many other English brewers how to bottle. Stellar job all round. Really like this one.

Aroma: Orange, lime, grapefruit, lychee, biscuit and pine.
Appearance: Hazy golden body with a think white head. No visible carbonation. Great lacing.
Taste: Tastes like two-day old fruit salad - juicy and delicious. Orange, hints of mango and a light woody flavour. Dangerously drinkable for 6.7% ABV.
Palate: Medium body with an oily mouthfeel, Soft carbonation prickle.
Overall: A very fruity IPA. Surprisingly smooth and drinkable for its strength.

Bottle at home
Cloudy orange with orange aroma and flavour. Plenty of bitterness but the malt is there for balance.
