(Bottle, from the brewery. Batch 2, 6.9%) Hazy amber colour with lasting, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with apricots, orange peel, pink grapefruit, caramel and aromas of fresh coffee. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, citrus, dried apricots, orange peel, black-currant, freshly ground coffee and a generous citric bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Interesting, the fresh coffee character gives the beer an extra dimension. Very nice.

Bottle. Orangey coloured, cloudy, bigger yellowish rocky head, moderate sweetish-bitter citrussy-fruity nose, some tartness in the background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, soft; some vinous traces in the hoppy-yeasty finish. Nice brew...

Batch 2, 6.9% Pours a murky orange, nice white head. Fruity hop smell. Also tastes fruity, bitter orange peel notes, smooth coffee hint that comes in after the hops. A bit odd but it kind of works, bit of malty sweetness comes through as well. Very interesting but I’m not entirely convinced.

Bottle at home from Kris Wines. Think this is batch one as the % is 6.4 so might have lost some of its fruitiness. Colour is pale orange amber, quite cloudy usual big white head. Very lively even though it has been standing for quite a long time. Aroma is pine hops, and lots of spice and coffee bitterness. Some chocoate too. Spice and bitterness made me sneeze! Maybe bit of smoke there too. Taste is really nice and as you would expect. Initial fruity hoppiness, probably a bit dulled by the age sadly, but still enough citrus to be pleasantly bitter. Then switches to roastiness. Can definitely taste the coffee, and a bit of dark chocolate too. Aftertaste is roasty bitter and spicy. Really nice, but wish I had caught it a bit earlier for a bit more fruit, but then again, maybe the coffee wouldn’t have stood out so much.

Batch 2 bottle 6.9% at home. Pours a muddy orange brown with a rocky beige head. Light pine and citrusy chocolate orange aromas are very evident. Light and zesty on the palate, it dances around the mouth giving little popping-candy bursts of flavour with every sip. A big piney citrus taste to this beer has a firm milk chocolate, coffee bean and coriander seed base. A little bready malt in the aftertaste dries nicely and sweetly leaving faint echoes of peppery lemon. A stunning and complex beer that perfectly balances all it’s elements to make one smooth and delicious ride.

Bottle from second batch. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of cigars, coffee, grass, yeast and barley. Coffee and pine flavours upfront with a surprisingly roasty malt linger. Mild carbonation and a little oily mouth-feel. Interesting.

Tangerine and sherbert on the nose hazy amber, fluffy white head, initial tart gooseberry followed by plenty of roast coffee and a pithy citrus/bitter coffee finish. Good mouthfeel, not to oily. Batch 2: Darker Amber with coffee much more to the fore on the nose. At first tangerine and a bitter sweet malt with long coffee finish. Well balanced this one
