3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Michigan Fall Beer Fest. Weird smell and weird taste. Was hoping for what Iíve had in The Livery and came out a little disappointed.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at The Livery. Just the sound of a Belgian IPA, barrel aged with wild yeast and raspberries had me questioning whether this beer would be a mess or a gem. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find they actually pulled this off!
The pour was a golden amber with pink hues abound. A nice white head that left nice swirls of lacing. The aroma was nicely floral with hints of funk, hay, tart raspberry and slight oak. Taste was a great balance between the the crisp Belgian IPA and the Wild Ale that was loaded with raspberries. Neither were too dominate, but the dry crispness of the hop profile lent itself nicely to the light bodied funk of the wild yeast. Hay, flowers, fresh cut grass, light bread, slight citrus peel all interplay across the middle ground before the oak and raspberry calm the bite by providing a nice sweetness to the back end. Bravo!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to tulip at The Livery. Looks good; a hazy reddish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells solid; tart with notes of hope and mls raspberries. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant mouthfeel. Good beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2014 Tap: copper-ish color with light ruby hints all around, topped off with a lavender tinted head. Aroma has some heavy oak & a light bit of raspberry, fruity sweetness all around, though it doesnít exactly smell that tart. Taste is full of drying oak, raspberry skins, a sharp, astringent tartness mid-palate that fades to a super dry, astringent, & nearly bitter finish. Not nearly as tart as Iíd hoped, & not incredibly funky, either. Just oaky & dry. Itís decent, but BA Funkelicious was much better. Kind of let down.
