One can trace this special wheat ale to a time when Bavarian monks brewed outside the German Purity Law of 1516 which states that wheat not be used in brewing beer. How lucky we are that German beer drinkers and brewers reached a compromise and Weiss beer lives on! Our special Weiss beer is a real unfiltered, cloudy German what ale with spice banana bread flavors and a slight caramel finish.

Draft at source. Lots of banana in the nose. Light bubble gum. Not much in the way of Clove. Light vanilla. Taste follows with a creamy mouthfeel and a subtle tartness in the finish. Not bad.

Julie says it is a very clean on the first sip. On the back end it is very floral and taste like air freshener she gives a 2.2

Enjoyed on tap at the restaurant for New Year’s Eve. Very impressed, although it seems more like a hefe, than just a wheat ale.

On tap at the brewpub, pours a hazy light golden yellow with a thin head, the aroma was of slight spices with bread and crackers, the flavor has a decent amount of bread mixed in with the light malt, pretty easy drinking, not bad.

Draft. Poured an hazy dark yellow color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet fruit and wheat aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable beer.
