500 ml bottle to snifter. Looks solid; a cloudy dark amberish brown with very light brown head that steadily dissipates into thin lacing. Smells malty and mildly tart. Tastes like it smells with some mild smoke as well. Mouthfeel is medium full-bodied and smooth; drinks closer to 7% than 10%. It’s definitely on the mild side of sours, but is unique and enjoyable.

The label said "strong sour Altbier" - there was no way I wasn’t buying this - pours a dark ruby - not really sour, more like mildly tart, but anyway - the nose dark bread, light smokiness, some dark fruit, and very light lactic tartness - surprisingly subtle flavor, with well-disguises alcohol - I would not guess even close to 10% it blind - taste is light smoke, raisin, mild caramelized sugars - the mild lactic tartness combines with the malt to create a sort of tart cherry character - finish of mild smoke, mild spice - only in the finish do you sense any alcohol - light lingering tannic character - interesting brew.

Schönes nicht alltägliches Bier Die Fruchtnote (holunder) kommt sehr gut raus was sehr gut zu der leichten rauch note passt allerdings is es mir für ein "Sour" zu mild, und das bier hat mich nicht besonders vom hocker gehaun was ich eigentlich erwartet hätte

Flaska 50 cl.

Very cloudy burned orange maybe some butterscotch looking, light head but a slight gusher. it could be that we used a lighter to open this beer since we are all German. Smells nice with a good sweetness and a touch of lemon candies. slight medicinal nose. Tart with smokey rye malt and maybe some band-aid but the tartness is nice. lemon and sweet. I get a little ginger. OJ finish

Geruch leicht rauchig, nach frischen Beeren, schwach malzig. Geschmack ebenfalls rauchig-fruchtig, Säure relativ schwach ausgeprägt.
