Bottle (750ml). Age roughly 1 year piror to tasting. Poured muddy golden brown with extremely large chunks of yeast (some of the biggest I have seen to date) and a large frothy, white head which lasted superbly. A complex and intriguing aroma with white pepper, fermenting pears, granny smith apples, lemon citrus, herbaceous hops, sweet sour dough, sawdust, barnyard hay, lavender and coriander. Strong notes of freshly cracked black pepper in the flavor with coriander, sweet bready malts, light bitterness, lemon zest, dry pears, straw and a lightly warming finish. Full bodied with medium bodied with a spicy/hot mouthfeel, a moderately thick texture and a relatively short finish. Being a fan of “big” beers, particularly ones with strong notes of alcohol this beer worked well for me.

2012 bottle. Deep, dark orange-gold, thick and a thick white head. Lots of bubbles rising slowing through the viscous thick body. Malty, lots of stone fruits, melon, honey, peach, light hop, yeast. Sweet and fruity, honey, biscuits, nicely tasty though, good enough bitterness. big thick body, bit very sparkling. Decent, too sweet though.

from Fork&Bottle - clear golden beer with a long lasting white foam; estery nose with fruity notes of pear and apples; light spicy; very sweet and full-bodied; subtle but fair carbonation, light earthy and long fruity, estery finish with a lingering residual sweetness

2007 vintage.
Popped the cork on this one Christmas of 2011. It poured with fervour providing a vigorous, enduring white head that left a thick band of lace. Body a pastel , deep yellow gold with very fine carbonation. The aroma is predomintaely yeasty, fuelled by heated alcohol and otherwise a mash of soft supple fruit, caramel and vinous, white wine notes. Quite vinous and spicy on the palate again propelled by the alcohol. Rounded, firm, with moderate carbonation. Light candy hit, caramel across the side of the tongue with a doughy, overripe fuit edge. Warming finish; caramel, banana, guava, honeydew and lychee sweep off long. After a few years it hasn’t aged, but does show signs of high gravity brewing. For price it was a swindler, but it does drink quite easily!! (75cL, Batch A0305, BB 31/03/09, The Beer Store Morley)
