3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Murray’s Cheese Bar. I’m guessing the name wasn’t referring to the Bangladeshi T20 pitches. Ruddy brown in colour, thin white head. Some of that vaguely bacon aroma. Nice malty undertones with I think about the right level of smokiness. But rauchbier is a bit of a one trick pony and you’re up against Schlenkerla and somehow it lacked the complexity of that. And why does it need to be 6%? Nevertheless solid beer.

On tap at PB. Draft at PB. A rich, sweet aroma. This seemed like a sweet lager made with smoked malts. Very impressive & original. I liked this one a whole lot.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed crimson tinged amber with a medium sized white head. Smoke and stone fruit. Medium bodied, sweet grain and plum comes through early before a wave of campfire smoke. The wave subsides, and moves back to some light grain. Another gorgeous beer, hints of smoke lingering on the finish.
