Bottle. Redbrown with small pale brown quickly disappearing head. Aroma dried fruits, sweet malts, plumes, raisins. Taste sweet malts, sugar, dried fruits. Some hopps in the finish. A fine and wellcomposed quad, but not as intense and complex as the best belgian quads. Maybe a little more hopped than most quads.

330ml bottle (bierkompass.de) - brewed at Scheldebruwerie
Dark orange, persistent head. Hard to pour clear, the floaties come over with very little warning quite early in the pour (itís been settling for weeks or even months). Surprisingly fruity aroma, heavy sweet fruit esters earlier, but it gets more and more appley, and alas a bit acetoney. I had the cruddy glass, and it smells dirty and yeasty. Annaís is a little bit more caramelly. Fairly simple in the palate, smoothish, gentle carbonation. Caramel first, but on swallowing, thereís a big heady rush. Annaís is a little bit more bitter, and is way hotter too. Finish of hers is quite bitter and hoppy. Mineís a bit smoother, hops and alcohol bitterness toned down, but the yeastiness is again there. A bit messy, and rather a simple overly-hot brew.

Bottle: The aroma consists of grapes, dark fruits, Belgian yeast, raisin, and light apple. It pour s a cloudy brownish-orange with a small two finger khaki head that has good retention before eventually fadign to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring; There is some thin soapy rings left behind on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate grape with some other fruits mixed in. There is some Belgian yeast and candi sugar in the middle. The finish has some light apple, raisin, and some light metallic notes. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, I like the beer, but I could really do without the metallic notes in the finish.

small bottle, yellow label, in the sitting position .. . pours a deep purple .. easy foam .. . raisin, plum skin, mild spice, and rum whiffs .. . breezy mouth feel with a well rounded mild finish .. . nice beer but a tame quad .. . . nothing wise was ever printed upon an apron.

330ml bottle [brewed at Scheldebrouwerij]. Slightly cloudy, copper-ish brown colour with average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity aroma has notes of plums, grapes, red and dark berries, especially bramble and blueberry, in parts concentrated to leather-like aspects of their parings, and equally not denying their "bushy" origin, i.e. a touch of wood and leaves. Taste is dry, slightly fruity, hints of dark berries, some leather, hints of treacle, spicy yeasty overtones, a proper amount of alcohol reaching the (roughly estimated) double-digit zone. Heavily alcoholic, otherwise relatively light.

Shared from 12oz brown bottle into snifters. It poured a nice copper colour with white foam and lace. Typical Belgian Strong Ale characteristics: grainy, caramel, black pepper, clove, bubble gum, definite alcoholic heat. True to style, warming and digestive, good not great.

#15 in calendar. Pours cloudy amber. Thick head, good lacing. Lots of carbonation. Smells of yeast, dark fruit, caramel. Taste is subtle dried fruit, caramel that transitions into sweet, nutmeg, fruit and toffee. Some hop mixed in. Not a fan of the style but this was an ok Belgian style beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured out a deep mahogany red with just enough silty sediment and a thick thick head. Iíve let it sit for quite a time and it smells pretty good and included some lemon. Nutmeg, faint mint, sweet plum, burnt brown sugar. Aroma fades. The taste is tasty taste stuff but lacks the classic style a bit. Slight sour tangy zip blended in with a sharp bitter spice that coats the mouth well. Light citrus, thoughts of powder fade, plum and sugar, having a problem picking up things at this point but itís tasted well though out. Crushed it.

Draught @ Brouwerís Cafť:   Deep amber, some copper hues, moderate to large foamy sandy head, nice lacing.   Sweet raisin and figs up front, bready, biscuity, some basement funk.   Similar on the tongue, a little syrupy, sweet, brown sugar and molasses in addition to what I noticed on the tongue.   Almost to the point of being too sweet.   Sweet without being too heavy is what saves it.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes bready, some fig/dates/raisins, with brown sugar and molasses.   Better tha most, solid but could be a bit heavier.   Still good tho.
