3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Clear, deep, dark mahogany pour with a mid-sized, creamy, lightly-tanned head that never dissipates - at all. The aroma is a restrained assembly of dried dark fruits, medium sherry, crusted port and brown sugar. Full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and busy carbonation. The flavor is roasty, vinous and moderately bitter with a hint of acidity. Finishes like a nice, well-balanced pinot noir. Bottle courtesy of Hopsleeroy!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Roasted, coffee, slight smoke aroma. Brown-black color with minimal tan head. Thinner than I had hoped and less smoky than the name promises. Still a good dark stout.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at Erzbierschof, Bern
Black color with creamy head. Mild malt, roasted malt and cream aroma. Smooth and round mouthfeel; it has a good blend of flavors: malt, roasted malt and chocolate; relatively strong bitterness.
Not aggressive, well balanced. But soulless.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
draught@erzbierschof - black beer with a long lasting beige foam; aroma of cold ashes, coffee and chestnuts; creamy palate, fizzy and full-bodied; some sweetness underneath, quite dry and fairly bitter, long roasted coffeish finish with more notes of ashes and nuts - robust and well-crafted

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mahogany color but looks more black in glass medium off white head. Aroma is yeast and minimal smoke. Great flavors and just the right amount of smoke it’s there but does not over take the beer at all.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, bought a while ago. Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of peat, leather, alcohol, liquorice (trekdrop), quite sweet as well. Flavour is molasses, leather, liquorice, alcohol, bitter light ashy finish. Medium-bodied. OK, expected a bit more though. RIS? Really?! Smoked BSA at best.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark pour, mild lacing, medium khaki head. Toasted malt aroma with maybe some toffee. Taste is caramel, toffee and chocolate. A little unbalanced. Not the best

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a very dark brown with off white leaving decent lacing. Aroma of toasted malt and alcohol. Flavors of the malt are stromg with an astrigent and bitter alcohol burn at the end. Not at the top of my list of beers.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle to pint glass
Oak, nutmeg, roasted malt, a trace amount of lime. Deep opaque brown with a long lasting creamy head. Taste is chicory smoke up front transitioning to sour apple, which fades quickly leaving a harsh hoppy smokiness.
