There’s not much smoke in the flavor of the beer, and just a touch of it lingers in the finish. The flavor is more roasted and sweet with an accent of smoke. Lingering roast finish. Not a bad stout, but not what I’m looking for in a smoked beer.

Bottle from Bierkompass.de. Pours very dark ruby with a big creamy beige head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, smoke and liquorice. Taste is roasted, most of all chocolate and liquorice, filling mouthfeel, high carbonated. Lovely sipper of a beer.

11.2 oz bottle brought at Grassroots in JAX, shared with the Nobi bartenders .. . pours a very deep brown .. mild head, lacing also .. . has a bit of a tart accrid bite at first, some mild yeast, chimney, and tar .. . the finish is quite nice, a bit of light medicine too .. . decent, wish it was smokey though ... . don’t pitch the bitch.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with some sediment and an off-white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, a little yeast, and just the tiniest hint of smoke. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, and caramel. ABV is well hidden.

Bottle from Decicco Ardsley. Dark brown with nice lasting tan head and lace. Aroma of smoke, wood, ash coffee, chocolate milk with slight alcohol. Roasty earthy dark chocolate and coffee with medium fruity sweetness. Roasty clean mildly bitter slightly smoky boozy finish. Body is surprisingly light. Bready. I would say a Belgian Imperial Stout. A better smoke beer than imperial stout. Nevertheless very good.

Pours dark brown with a small off white head. The smell is caramel malts and weak smoke. Some chocolate and some alcohol. The taste is a little watery despite the 10% abv. Slightly cheap malt and really not much smoke. Decent but harmless.

0.33l bottle @ Gaasa. This is a deep dark brown - almost black one with a small light lacing brown top. It has a really nice amazing with tons and tons of chocolate! Some traces of smoke, dark malts and vanilla - but the chocolate dominates everything. Lovely aroma. Right below average on the carbonation and a slick mouthfeel. Great flavors also. Licorice, chocolate, vanilla extract and grass. Yes! This is a really tasty one! 01.03.2013

Pours dark brown with a small tan head and slight lacing. Smell of roast malt smoke and chocolate. Taste of smoke, malt, chocolate and ash dirt?, medium body. Easy drinking.
