Founder’s Club Release #1 Home, Sour Home is our golden sour beer fermented with Brettanomyces yeast and Lactobacillus bacteria. It’s aged in oak barrels with peaches, cinnamon, and vanilla bean, simply reminding us of homemade peach cobbler.

Thanks to errl for sharing this bottle. Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is a mix of cinnamon with some biscuit malt, orange and light tartness. The flavor is similar. The tart, sour oranges come through up front but are complemented by some cinnamon and vanilla. There is also some biscuit malt and wheat which add a bit of sweetness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Excellent.

750 ml bottle shared by Cam. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have tart/sour peach, citrus, Brett, lactic notes, some acidity, light spice, a hint of vanilla, I need to try this again.

750ml bottle pours hazy golden orange with a finger of head. Nose has nice bright cinnamon, vanilla, some funk, tartness, as it warms a hint of weirdness (band-aid?) emerges in the nose. Taste has nice balanced acidity, some light woody peach and citrus notes, crisp spice, vanilla. Finish is tart fruity citrus peach, and wood funk with nice spice notes.

Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland, Pours a hazy yellow color with a finger of fizzy white foam. The nose is a complex array of warm spices, peach juice and fruity funk. The palate follows and with a bit of time the flavors really start to round out and come together. Big vanilla round perfume spiced with cinnamon and peaches. Tartness plays nicely with the round creamy fruit, big lacto character and hints of barnyard funk. Creamy mouthfeel with nice carbonation that dries out the finish.

Tap. Pours hazy butterscotch, small white head, kinda creamy, good lacing. Aroma is fruity, bit of funk, oak. Flavor is initially lightly sweet, peach, vanilla, cinnamon all come through, lightly tart with some oak and a bit of tannins. Minimal funk. Dry finish. Lightish body, good effervescence. Not all that complex

On tap at the brewery on release day. Pours an orange tinted gold with a small white head. Aroma is yogurty with a pinch of peach. Flavor is more robust, with clear accents of vanilla and cinnamon alongside canned peaches and harsh Greek yogurt. As usual, there’s significant acetic character, which starts to burn as you get farther down the glass.

Off yellow kind of golden. Looks a lot like a gueuze. Light carbonation. Nose is dominated by cinnamon a ton of huge Christmassy gingerbread and vanilla aromas. Sugar, spice and everything nice up front. Vanilla is prevalent with a minor oak finish. Throughout the taste, undertones of sharp acidic sour are there but honestly, from start to finish and even way after the finish is done, the adjuncts stay alive. If you are on the fence about sour beers and love Christmas spices, this is a beer for you. If you’re a purist sour-head who hates adjuncts, skip this one.
