COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This traditional German Schwarzbier is a black lager that will surprise you. We used a special malt that is dehusked before roasting so the finished beer is light and drinkable with hints of chocolate, but without the harsher roasty flavor of a stout. It makes for one heck of a smooth beer. Winner of the Silver Medal for the Schwarzbier cartegory at he the 2010 Great American Beer Festival!

End of day rating! Cloudy dark brown beer with a residual suddy tan head. Light dry palate. Tangy dark malt. That’s about it.

Cask gravity @ GBBF 2010. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a weak roasted malty caramel and chocolate aroma. roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Very dark brown colour. Not great. Some dark lager characteristics. But has funny finish. Herb and touch of liquorice. Not great and not my thing.
