COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What happens when you have a brewer who loves German lagers and decides to make a smoked beer? A smoked lager of course! Not too ‘bacony’ or extreme, just a wisp of smoke on a ton of pilsner malt for an added depth of flavor. It’s like drinking the best lager you’ve had in a long time, downwind from a campfire.

Glowing golden pour with a slight offwhite filmy head. Aroma is sweet grains, a flutter of smoke, and some earthy herbaceous notes. Slippery and lightly drying on the tongue, the flavor is that of an earthy lager with lingering malty sweetness and a whisper of smoke. Pretty good + Great price = Quite good.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottled version. The pour is golden yellow with a white fizzy head. It looks like an American Pale. The aroma is subtle and played down. I was hoping for more smoke in a smoke lager. But I got pale malts, sugar, and crisp hops. The body was light to medium. The taste is a step up from the aroma with a slightly more smoky feel and a lingering thin bitterness. It reminded me more of a pilsner.

Pours clear gold into a snifter. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet caramel and mild smoke aromas. Soft with sweet bready malt upfront turning to a mildly smoked earthy bitter lasting finish.
