German-style Altbier brewed with German malts and hops. Has the maltiness of a brown, the hoppiness of a pale ale and the crisp finish of a lager. Aged for three months at cellar temperature.

Poured from the bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a rich, brown color with a slight dark amber hue and some light sediment and cloudiness to go with a small foamy off-white head that had short retention, modest lacing and light cling. Its aroma featured caramel malt with light nut notes blended with modest earthy and grainy hops. The taste had a pleasant caramel malt effect mixed with some lightly bitter grainyness and a bit of nut and bread. It was a very wet beer with low carbonation and life, and the body was quite watery and a bit creamy.

Poured brown with a white head. Good lacing. Nose of roasted malts friot. nuts, and noble hops. Medium body and a smooth mouth feel. The flavor is rich and there is citrus in moderate bitter finish. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

22 ounce bottle. Amber to light brown color topped by a small foamy beige head. Aroma of toasted malt with hints of caramel, baked bread and floral hops. Flavor of more toasted malt upfront. Hints of brown sugar and nuts. Lightly carbonated with an emerging spicy hoppiness in the finish.

Light head. A malty, slightly sour aroma. Pours a beautiful iron-y brown. Fairly light-bodied with a moderate bitter finish.

Good to see an alt and a fine one at that. Super easy to drink. Light and crisp but with the good nutty taste that I like in this style.

Draft @ the brewpub. Brown color into the pint. Small white colored head. Some spots of lace. Nose of light roast, nuts, and caramel. Hints of pure grain and a dash of hops. You can pick out the German hops, very Eastern European. Medium body with light bitterness in the finish. I liked this brew. Itís a nice example of the style.

Bomber received in a recent trade. Thanks again Alec! Bottled 4/11. Pours a very dark copper/chestnut brown color thatís almost completely opaque with dark golden ruby/mahogany edges and a one finger frothy off-white head. Good retention, only slowly fading into a thick lasting ring that leaves spots of soapy lacing behind. Earthy, floral aroma with hints of piny, grassy hops countered by lots of sweet malt. Hints of caramel, rye, toffee and hazelnut counter the dank, oily hops. Medium bodied but fuller than expected with a nice balance of grassy, earthy hops and sweet malt. The floral, piny hops provide a nice amount of dry bitterness that lingers throughout over the sweet malt profile into a crisp, spicy finish. As the beer warms the toasted malt backbone becomes more prominent with hints of caramel, toffee, chocolate, rye and biscuit. Overall this beer isnít overly complex but itís excellently balanced, flavorful and very quaffable. Iím usually not a fan of American breweries attempting German styles but this one is pretty good. I would probably drink this often if it was local to me.

on tap-pours a rich tan head with trailing lace and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-some caramel. Taste is medium malt-peat, spice, bittering hops bite. Agree with some other comments, cookie dough, metallic.
