beerbuzzmontreal (2743), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 8, 2005 Hazy yellow color with a thin creamy white head. Aroma of bananas and lemon. Flavor of bananas, lemon and bubblegum. Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 31, 2005 Mild, grainy, citrus, spicey aroma. Opaque yellow body with decent white head that diminishes rapidly to cover. Graininess in the flavour is sweet with some light citrus and banana, light spices and a sugary finish. Light and somewhat watery body. Carbonation much too low for style. Sampled at the brewpub with ClarkVV, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Mar 30, 2005 New England Road Trip Easter ’05 with MartinT, tiggmtl and Rastacouere, beer #26. Sample at the brewpub, joined by the locquacious and sagacious ClarkVV. Banana-cinnamon nose emanates from a solid opaque gold body with the requisite head...sweet-sour bready flavor is nice, but doesn’t quite hold up, undone by a thinness in texture. OK. Rastacouere (5355), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 29, 2005 Cloudy opaque yellow, no head. Cookie bready nose. Christmas candy, spruce, cloves and dominating nutmeg deny the weizen qualities. Just too spicy and not relying on its ingredients enough. Cinnamon and dried bananas never manage to overtake the nutmeg. Watery texture confirms the lack of interest. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 28, 2005 Broad-shouldered cloves and nutmeg dance drunkenly atop an opaque, unfiltered curtain...Brash yeasty bitterness whirls amidst a somewhat stale mouthfeel, as a neat bubblegum burp pops up...All over the place, very flavorful, but maybe not cohesive enough to attract me into getting another...
