3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tiggmtl (4516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 31, 2005
Herbal, grassy, floral hop nose. Very clear, pale, golden coloured body is topped by a creamy white head with fine-bubbled carbonation. Fair hop flavour (grassy, grapefruit, floral) with plenty of tropical fruitiness and a fair bitterness. Grainy in the aftertaste. Light body with moderate carbonation that prickles the tongue. Sampled at the brewpub with ClarkVV, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

New England Road Trip Easter ’05 with MartinT, tiggmtl and Rastacouere, beer #21. Sample at the brewpub, joined by the locquacious and sagacious ClarkVV. Clear blonde, touch of head...herbal/grainy nose, clean in the aroma and flavor...sweet, simple, lightly corn-sugary...not bad.

clear gold, white ring. Lightly phenolic nose, grainy and herbal. Crisp palate, aptly thin bodied, somewhat seedy and not feeling very fresh to me. Finish is wet, short. Just okay.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 28, 2005
Spicy pale fruit and a creamy, lactic feel promote a slightly buttery profile...A watery appearance hides the hay-ish, grainy subtleties...Quite tasty for the house blond offering...

On draught at the brewery January 2005. Pale gold-copper ale, with light yellow tints and a small white head. Aroma of honey, light base malt grains and a touch of yeast, ever so light. Has a medium-light body, quite refreshing, with even some light crispness from the hops. Lightly sweet body, decent dose of malt and just tremendously drinkable. Another wonderful session (been having a lot of those lately). Some light esters from the yeast, with a smooth creamy consistency and a bit of a drying sensation on the end from the hops, though it remains mostly malty. A good deal of wateriness, but not anything out of place for the style.

Different from most summer ales. Pours cloudy with a small white head. Taste is almost like a hefewiezen. Crisp and light. Average stuff.

On tap at The Tap: Clear golden color, light malts aroma, fizzy mouthfeel, starts sweet and ends not sweet. Boring.
