MartinT (4241), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 20, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Roasted malts and raisiny fruitiness politely interact with the leafy dry hop finish in this thinnish and light Dry Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circes the cloudy brownish black.
-All flavors are balanced, yet nothing really seduces me.
-Malt contribution is relatively low, which is a shame for the style; this feels like a nondescript Black Ale, more than anything else.
-The sweet fruitiness is interesting at first, but gets lost after a while.
On tap at the brewpub.

beerbuzzmontreal (2674), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 12, 2008 Pours a black color with brown highlights and almost no head. Boring aroma and flavor of dark, slightly roasted malt. The body is light while the texture is near watery and the carbonation is low. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 9, 2008 on tap-pours a thin light brown head and mahogany color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-nutty/roasty, faint dark somewhat sweet fruit. Taste is medium/dark malt-coffee/nutty/roasty, secondary flat/earthy (English) hops bitterness. Mild carbonation.
