COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brand new, year-round rye ale. The second we looked at the grain bill and said “That’s enough rye” -- we immediately doubled the amount. A peppery bite from the malt, and plenty of alpha acid from the Chinook and Glacier hops. They all come together into a brew that we’re ecstatic to share with a certain type of people; people who love things that are awesome.

22 oz. bottle purchased at Julio’s in MA. Amber hued ale with decent carbonation. The label says "hoppy and spicy" and that’s exactly how the beer hits my palate. The hops and rye seem to battle for predominance in the mouth with neither gaining a significant advantage. Overall, a product which comes across as advertised and one I’d probably purchase again.

22 oz. bottle from Julio’s. Pours out a medium brownish amber. Good frothy head. Good carbonation. Light hop-spice aromas. Flavor is very smooth. Good peppery malts. Not too hoppy. Very sessionable.

Pours deep blood orange into a Sam glass. White head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Sweet caramel and butterscotch aromas. Soft with sweet toffee upfront turning to mild resin in the lasting finish.

GBBF. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. A trace of superfine carbonation. Mild rye spice, mild malts. Jammy undertone. Semi dry finish. All right.

Tap at GBBF 2012. Cloudy reddish brown colour. Hoppy aroma. Plenty of rye character upfront, then a fairly generic American IPA hop bitterness to finish. A solid example of a style I like. There should probably be a rye beer style section on this site, it’s much more definable than some of the spurious current entries.
