One of our favorites! This English Old Ale is brewed with the best English malts and hops and then aged to give it a deliciously smooth body and flavor. Mild roasty flavors compliment its malty sweetness. Definitely a great one for cold winter nights and to bring home in a growler! 42IBU

Pours black with a giant brown foaming head. Aroma is caramel and toffee. Taste is caramel and slight oak with some roast. Not too bad but I fear this bottle was past it’s prime.

Boutip (4999) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 18, 2014
Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a super huge brown foamy head (quite a bit of a gusher actually). Aroma of dry caramelized malt with some dry toffee notes. Taste is also dominated by actually quite nice dry caramelized malt notes with some subtle notes of toffee and a generally quite dry finish. Body is about average with too much carbonation. Not too bad for an old ale that was past its best by date by almost three years.

Lubiere (10700) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 12, 2014
A reddish copper ale with a thick frothy mocha head, gushed like a volcano. In aroma, herbaceous caramel malt with wild hops, light iodine notes, OK. In mouth, a nice tart caramel malt with light grassy hops, effervescent, a bit unbalanced, so-so. Bottle at 2014 Ottawa Xmas gathering.
