COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our favorites! This English Old Ale is brewed with the best English malts and hops and then aged to give it a deliciously smooth body and flavor. Mild roasty flavors compliment its malty sweetness. Definitely a great one for cold winter nights and to bring home in a growler! 42IBU

Caramel, nuts, and a little metallic tinge in the aroma. Taste is sweet and malty. Lots of alcohol and a little bitterness in the finish. Good, but not great.

Growler share by jcwatts at RBWG meet and greet. Poured a clear deep amber foamy body with an average sized light beige head. Aroma and flavor of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown toast, light chocolate. Some dough and raisin notes in the aroma as well. Medium body overall that held up nicely in the growler.

Bottle. Pours clear tawny with a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is toast, caramel, and cookie malt, treacle, earthy and spicy hops with dates. Flavor is malt dominant, light hops and bitterness, dark fruits and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Backlog rating, thanks to many great ratebeerians. The smell is cardboard, dusty, malts, fruits, and ok. The look is amber, off white head, and clear. The taste is clear, malts, fruits, and alcohol.

One last winter beer for the last day of February, aka the cheapskate month. "The Sworn Enemy of Cabin Fever" and oddly on a shelf next to Berkshire’s Cabin Fever at the store. Dark roast aroma of brown sugar, plums and such. Dark cherrywood color. Gaahhh...the flavor is like wet fur and sour berries you might find on a prickly vine. Syrupy consistency that would be fine if it weren’t so sweet. Not for me.

Bottle. Pours black with a fluffy off white head, dissipating quickly to some nice lacing. Nose is a little weak but some roasted malts are apparent. Taste is also a lot of roasted malts but also adds some dark fruits and just a touch of hop bitterness to close. Nice soft palate. Tastes awesome but the other elements are holding it back from being great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
