500ml Bottle 6.4%. Clear coppery orange with a short beige head that lasts a while. Resiny hoppy aroma has notes of passionfruit, toffee, lemon, honey and pine. Flavour mirrors the aroma. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a long bitter finish. Very nice IPA, a little on the sweet side but balanced with plenty of bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 KapitiCritique (324) - Xincheng, Henan Province, CHINA - MAY 9, 2010
500 ml bottle 6.4% ABV by the way
Aroma: Hops and a hint of watermelon. As it warms up, there is a hint of grapefruit.
Appearance: Clear golden brown with a thick, rocky, toffee coloured head and good lacing.
Taste: A little sweet, predominant mix of sour and bitter
Palate: Medium body, slightly sticky and a tad creamy--the head is quite dense--with good carbonation and a bitter and slightly astringent finish with nice aftertaste leaning toward melons.
Overall: Not an IPA fanatics first choice but this is a somewhat complicated addition to the growing list of well crafted NZ beers and I can’t see real IPA drinkers pushing this away.

Part of the tasting rack at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold color with a medium white head. Has a nice hoppy aroma, with grapefruit citrus and pine. Hops, citrus, and pine are also throughout the flavor, which includes some spice and sweetness before a dry hoppy finish. Very well-balanced and an excellent IPA overall.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 8, 2009
Handpull at the brewpub, ’09 brew. Pours hazy amber, smooth off white head.
A big, fresh hop aroma, grapefruit & pepper with a bit of pineneedles.
Piny hop flavour, resiny, turning a bit peppery as it accumulates.
The resiny bitterness fills your mouth, then a long hoppy dry finish.
A beautiful hoppy, tasty IPA. Tastes kind of like an American IPA.
