I expected a stout, but it was probably too thin-bodied for that, and now I see that it’s just styled as an "old ale". Roasted malts on the nose and taste, some well-balanced bitterness in the finish. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary.

Hand pump @ Hashigo Zake. Dark Copper/Brown, looow carbonation and a whisp of off-white head. Surprisingly little aroma, some caramel and malty goodness. Wonderfully smooth and creamy texture. Roasted, brown sugar, toffee and fruit bread flavours. Round and full in the mouth but drinkable, oh so drinkable. Never guess it was 5.9%.

Opens like a mouthful of caramel pop corn, loverly brown-reddish colour and clear, malty yeasty nose, not at all carbonated but good body and nice malty aftertaste.
Nicely complex.
