This fine, golden coloured beer has a full flavour that lingers pleasantly on the palate. With a good bitter-sweet balance this beer has a robust hop character described as citrus and spicy. It’s a refreshing and very satisfying pint – noted for the aroma of its Fuggles and dry hopping strain Golding to add to its characteristic Theakston aroma.

Glowing golden ale with nice creamy head, doesn’t quite feel like a best bitter in taste or texture, but its light character is drinkable.

Cask at The Ship Tavern, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. Dry, crunchy toast malts on the nose with hints of dry leaves as well. Light sweet flavor, pretty dry with dull toast, wood, dry leaves, faint citrus and toasty sugar. Light bodied with average carbonation. Decent condition. Semi-dry to finish and lightly crisp, though also somewhat watery, with toasty and crunchy malts and dried leaves. Bland.

[Cask at the Old Board Inn, Hawes] Amber, thick white (sparkler) head. Fruity, with a hint of sulphur and some caramel malt in the slightly dusty, mildly bitter finish. A quite drinkable, if rather unexciting, standard bitter.

Cask conditioned handpump Great Eastern Brighton 20/05/12. A brown beer with a white head and lacing. A sweet bitter. Reasonable fruits in the mouth. Nutty notes. Aroma is over sweet. Standard but OK.
