2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Nitrokegged in the Waterhead hotel, Ambleside. If it had any beerlike aroma it was masked by the nitro and the cold serving temperature. Flavour inoffensive, but I should have gone for wine.

One of the greatest ales there are. It’s certainly one of my favorites if not #1. An excellent session beer when you can find it well kept.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[Cask conditioned] Amber coloured. Fruity aroma. Very nice flavour. Hoppy, herbal. spicy and bitter. Full bodied. I was very surprised to read all the bad ratings of this great brew. Very underrated.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2008 Agreeable malty aroma and good colour though head was thinnish. Flavour had pleasant notes of citrus but the finish lacked the bitterness I wanted. Would buy it again if I was thirsty. 2.1.08 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Buttered toast malt aroma. Sweet fruity taste. Some bitterness. Pretty sound. Rated 188.8.131.52.13: 3.3

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Very below average bitter, no real body, or head. It is fairly easy to drink, however you end up getting bored half way through it.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hand pulled at Moon in the Square (JDW), Bournemouth, due to lack of anything else. Very thin, light brown Bitter. Very light on flavour, but slightly compelling. An enjoyable toffee feeling. In comparison with other smaples, I’m sure this would suffer, but in isolation, it was an OK session beer, in the traditional sense.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask conditioned at Greencoat Boy, London. Not much character because of lack of hoppy bitterness. Nice looking but forgettable.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2004 Draught. Bland, watery, slight bitterness. Not a great beer, but just about drinkable if you want to try it.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2004 Cask conditioned, The Falcon (JD Wetherspoons), High Wycombe, Bucks.(Handpump, tight sparkler). Similar to the Worthington’s sampled during the same meal (sweet/malty), this was more fruity A very good beer, that didn’t suffer from the stewed hops often seen in northern brews.. Very underrated I feel.
