Thistle Hotel, Aberdeen, Scotland, 15.08.05, draught and very cold, but I drank it with dinner. The color is dark amber and the head has big bobbles. The aroma is hoppy with notes of caramel, and the flavour has notes of aroma hops, caramel and a bit of fruit. The bitterness is nice, and itís an really OK Bitter.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at The Whitelocks Pub, Leeds. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size lasting creamy white head. Nice lacing. Mild aroma of sweet malt, fruit and light hops. Slightly sweet, malty, fruity flavour with some light hops and a light bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good, I wish it was a bit hoppier but nevertheless itís a good session beer.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
[CASK: The Salisbury Ale House, Manchester 24/06/06] As the main brew for Theakstons I can help but wish for a bit more... This is just my opinion. This is a popular ale and is quite tasty. I myself prefer something a little stronger. Not bad, just not great either.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pretty good for a norther brew; not the usually dishwaters served up by Yorkshire. Fairly hoppy and bitter, if a touch flat and bland. stereotypical mud brown bitter colour. Not too bad at all!
