Cask. Pours a murky, opaque brownish with a rich off-white head leaving a broad curtain of lacework. Aroma of sweet caramel and toffee, some yeast and phenols as well. Solid body, low carbonation, again toffee, sweet licorice, yeast and friendly phenols. Some warming alcohol in the finish. Pleasant. 010212

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. An unclear brown beer with a light tan head. The aroma has notes of nuts, malt, and hints of butterscotch. The flavor is very sweet with notes of butterscotch, nuts, caramel, and malt, leading to a dry finish.

From cask at Charlies. Pours dark amber golden with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty, caramelish and light fruity. Sweet malty, light fruity, somewhat molden touch. Light alcohol presence. Lingering fruity and dark malty finish.

Cask @ the Wharf, Aalborg. Clear brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, light yeasty and dried fruit - raisins in particularly. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 251211

Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel and dried fruits.
Fruity flavour of caramel, dried fruits and hops with notes of grass.
Hoppy finish.

[CASK: The Salisbury Ale House, Manchester 10/11/06] A very strong brew but with a pleasant tast and not too harsh. Will send you loopy if you drink too much. Good strong flavour and full dark bodies. Nice!

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Brown bronze with white head. Big malty beer with earthy fungal fruitiness and a sweetish toffee note. Plenty of nasal alcohol and a full hop finish. It’s good to see Theakston’s getting it together again.
