3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, 500ml from Millets Farm Shop, Frilford, Oxon. Orange copper colour with off white head. Quite a smooth, lightly caramelised beer, some toffee notes with a reasonably delicate spicing note although cinammon is the stand out flavour. Sweetish, fruity. It’s quite reasonable.

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml bottle bought at Wellcome Superstore in Sheung Shui.
Clear amber copper colour; Half finger head and white foam which faded in 30 seconds; Small sticky lacing and very fizzy carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of ale malt, with strong raisins, figs, damsons, grape soda, caramel, strong toffee, strong cinnamon, light yeast and faint grass; Light sweet taste of moderate malt, with roastyness, strong nuts, caramel, toast, molasses notes, dry biscuits, strong yeast, light lime, bitter hops and light grass; Close to light body, thin but slick palate; Mouth feel is quite amber malty with strong roasted nut taste resembling cashews and macademia. Also good toastyness and dry biscuits, and there’s not much fruity elements here as the strong aroma suggests. Interesting…
Hoppiness is cinnamon and faint grass nose. Light lime and grass in taste. Bitterness is moderate for an abrupt, light tasted grassy finish; Quite dry after taste. Easy and biscuity to mouth.
Comments: This is a very polarizing beer with nice but totally unrelated aroma and taste: its strong fragrant dark fruits and spicy nose tries to bridge with the roasty bready malt taste. Together they are at odds with each other and it feels a bit awkward. Interesting but in the end just average.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle from a Tesco store. Clear amber-brown coloured body. Dissipating beige head. Modest aroma of earthy malts and leafy hops. A lightly spiced touch added to a taste profile of stewed fruits and mid-sweet malts. Mild bitter finish. Average and rather anonymous (hotel room, London 16.08.2013).
