Specially brewed to celebrate the tradition of brewing in Masham. Theakston’s have been brewing their ales continuously in the Yorkshire Dales market town for over 185 years, using family recipes passed down from one generation to the next.
Including the finest British barley, raisins, classic English hops and hints of cinnamon to give an outstanding and uniquely characterful ale.

Wanted to try it because of the Masham connection. Bit thin for me, not much depth to the flavour. Got the raisin and spice notes, but didn’t do much for me.

Amber colour with a very thin white head. Aroma of syrupy caramel very sweet. Tastes lightly sour, sticky, fizzy, Not the nicest theakstons I’ve tasted.

Medium amber with a thin, white, foamy lacy head. Smells of nice spices like cinnamon, toasted malt, raisin, and wood. Light thin body. Sweet tastes of malt with cinnamon, wood with light fruit, chocolate and toasted malt. Finishes with cinnamon and toasted malt. Interesting

Aroma: Spicy, Cinnamon, sweet, bubblegum, cola, Appearance: Copper body. Sparse off-white head. Flavour: Medium-light bitterness, medium sweetness, spicy, cinnamon, fruity, bubblegum, cola, Palate: Medium-light body. Medium-carbonation. Overall: The cola/bubblegum is an unwelcome flavour and aroma. Not an enjoyable beer at all! 500 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 8C. Extra Special/Strong Bitter (English Pale Ale)

Appearance: Clear amber/copper with thin quick to disappear ivory head. Aroma: Cinnamon, raisin, bread and slightly floral. Taste: Low/medium sweetness and sourness, low bitterness. Palate: Smooth thick texture, light body, average carbonation, lingering fruity, cinnamon finish. Comments: Ok session beer a bit too much cinnamon for me. No glass lace.

500ml bottle from a Tesco store. Clear amber-brown coloured body. Dissipating beige head. Modest aroma of earthy malts and leafy hops. A lightly spiced touch added to a taste profile of stewed fruits and mid-sweet malts. Mild bitter finish. Average and rather anonymous (hotel room, London 16.08.2013).

(Bottle): A dark orange beer with a small white head. A spicy aroma with cinnamon, fruit and malt. Again, spices in the taste with some woody notes and citrus peel, nice background of malt too. Very mild bitterness and thin body.
