COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Abv reduced from 5.7 to 5.6 in 2010.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

Flaska på restaurant Bullen i Malmö. Jättefina dofter av blommor, kola och säd. Smakar ännu bättre. Kola och enbär, en aning banan. Mycket gräddig munkänsla. Fin beska.

Deep brown pour, thick lacing left behind. The aroma is of ripe berries, oxidation, toasted malts. Light bodied and effervescent. Flavors of sherry, berries, plums, iced coffee. Crisp and very clean on the finish.

One of my all-time favorites! It’s complexed character and toffeeish taste just make me feel like everything is right with the world.

500mL bottle. Poured clear, deep garnet with a well-retained smoked beige head. The aroma picked up raisins and other dark fruits with accents of dusty hops, cloves, and fresh, clean yeast.. jammy fruit on the back of the nose.. really nice. The flavor found light, flaky biscuit malt along with jammy fruits and berries at the core.. raisins and figs emanate outward.. dry, clean bitterness on the edges and on the quick finish. Light-medium bodied and dry on the palate.. moderate carbonation.. crisp and well-balanced.

11.2oz bottle in a snifter. Pours dark brown with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of caramel and light roasted malts, some fruits, and floral hops. Flavor about the same with nothing standing out. Average texture. Not a bad beer, but not great.

Wow what a nice beer, wasn’t expecting that! Pours a nice thing dark dark brown with a very creamy head that is retained. Nice neutral balance between sweet and bitter. Great english ale!

bottle dark brown with ruby hues . thick foamy dark beige head -laces well . aroma is dark fruits and malt . taste is sweet fruitcake style initially then toasted malt shows with a more bitter finish . medium carbonation . a touch more body would increase the score but a nice beer .

Deep brown-ruby colour with a cram-latte coloured head on it that leaves good lace down the glass. Aromas of dates, port, old wines and sultanas. It has a full, rich curranty aroma that you don’t get in a fly by night ale. Also aromas of rosehip and dark cherries. Good body and mouthfeel with flavours of sherried Christmas cake, maybe even a bit of rum. At the forefront of rich fruit and nut chocolate and lip smacking dessert. Bitter? There’s a little, but the predominance is of berries, rosehip and even a dusting of allspice. A lingering finish of those fruitcake flavours. Cool in the mouth and tingly, pleasant. What I like is the richness and style of this beer. What I didn’t like was... was... well, there was nothing not to like.

Sugary syrupy aroma with hints of coffee. The flavour is a good balance of bitter and sweet
