| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 18, 2007 It pours a rich deep brown, about the color of cola, and not much of a head. The strong aroma is malty with a hint of toffee and even a bit of cola-like scent. Rich flavor is strongly malty with some hop bitterness and a whisper of toffee. This is a very tasty and satisfying ale, good either on its own or with a meal. Icommonsewer (122), TUCSON, Arizona, USA

The aroma is of grapefruit, licorice and caramel. Some hints of oranges and dark chocolate. Slightly metallic. The taste is rather malty, buttery and nutty. A medium bodied beer with a fairly low bitterness. A dry buttery finish follows with some nice caramel elements. Poor lacing. drpimento (809), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA

I had the rare opportunity to sample first the imported version and then a bottle brought to me by an Englishman. Thanks for that Vinnie! Very similar, but the English version (which includes the words "The Legend" on the label) is a bit fresher, smoother, and sweeter. Lovely garnet color. Full body. Rich malty slightly bittersweet flavor. Toffee, dark cherries, dark chocolate, fine carbonation. Tried ’em both at at Bodega downtown La Crosse, WI USA thewolf (5722), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Bottle. Bought and brought home from Cockney Pub, Aarhus. Pours a great dark red with a small creamy off white head. Aroma is mild, there are lots of caramel, roasted malts and some berries. Low carbonation. Flavour begins mild, then turns great. Some roasted caramel, liqourice and a little chocolate. Not as stunnig as on cask, but still good.
