| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2006 Dark clear brown with a tightly packed brown head. Excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of cherry, plum, also some yeast, crystal malt, and a funky metallic hop. Body is not as full as expected but gives some caramel, herbal hops and a smooth bitterness. Finish is sweet and sightly cloying. Gr0ve (1392), Oslo, Norway

Throws a tall thick off-white head. Rich raisiny aroma with a clear red berry background aroma. Distant hop characters. Rounded and soft mouthfeel. Soft roasted malt flavour with a fruity edge. Many of the same red berries can also be found in the flavour. Aftertaste is mellow, but with a crisp floral hop bitterness. Very nice. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2006 Really interesting aroma! Slightly smokey malts and some fruit too. Sipping it is great. Lots of malt and some yeast too. Alcohol on the back of the tongue and some roastiness there too. Color is dark brown with a bit of a tan head that just lingers. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 23, 2006 From bottle. Sweet, syrup and little bitter aroma. Black, coca cola look with a great crusty bread head. Smooth to taste with a nice smokey texture. Little tangy aftertaste. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Pour is dark, dark red, almost opaque. Caramelly aroma reminds me of a red irish ale, with some alcohol in there. Sweetness in the aroma betrays the flavor, which is slightly sour, especially in the aftertaste. Some alcohol and (sour?) bread in the flavor as well. Rich, buttery mouthfeel, similar to a doppelbock. Overall, I liked this beer, but not as a regular session beer. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2006 Can’t believe I forgot to rate this one. Pours inky brown with medium tan head that vanishes quickly. Nose is powerful caramel and cream, with an alcohol note. There are dates, belgian sugar candy, toffee, roasted almonds in the flavor. Rather chewy mouthfeel. I have to rate this high because this beer opened my eyes to some of the "alternative" stuff.
